But what are the advantages of the new pliers? The updated design makes installation easier because you can use the same pliers for both MC4 and MC4-Evo 2 and all open B-crimp contacts. It is not necessary to change the crimp dies. Moreover, they are suitable for cable cross-sections of 2.5/4/6 mm² or 4/6/10 mm² within one insert. The pliers leave an imprint on each crimped connector so that even after many years it is still possible to determine whether the original Stäubli crimping pliers were used. The registered crimp traceability concept provides information on the conductor cross-section, crimp height, and width on every connector installed.
