Les Tissages de Charlieu (LTC) was founded in 1902 in an area of France where weavers have been established since the Middle Ages. The company carries on Jacquard weaving know-how while demonstrating day after day that French industry can develop in sync with accessibility, eco-responsibility, human fulfillment, decarbonization, and respect for the environment. LTC has chosen Stäubli as a partner to support its approach and commitment.

The challenge

Les Tissages de Charlieu aims to demonstrate the effectiveness and profitability of sustainability in textile industry. The weaving company is committed to human health & safety, the environment, and prosperity. The textiles produced by LTC are woven in France in compliance with national and EU social & environmental regulations, making them some of the cleanest textiles on the planet.

The solution

Les Tissages de Charlieu recently installed 40 Jacquard SX PRO machines to meet its ESG (environmental, social and governance) strategy. The SX PRO meets a wide range of LTC's requirements:

30% energy savings compared with previous-generation machines.
Robustness: Stäubli Jacquard machines are renowned for their reliability, delivering decades of continued use.
Durability: The SX PRO is easy to maintain. Its practical design makes repairs easy. Spare parts remain available and are identical with the original parts.
Flexibility: This new-generation Jacquard machine can handle a wide range of fibers. LTC uses its SX PRO machines mainly to weave yarns recycled within a circular economy scheme.

Stäubli’s PRO range of Jacquard machines incorporates the MX PRO module combined with an integrated power supply and a new ventilation system with optimized temperature control. This design improves both machine performance and maintenance, with easy access to key components.
