  • Develop an excellent knowledge of all products, their function and application. Be able to understand the customer position in order to provide the best product and options for the client’s need.
  • Practice and implement the company’s selected sales strategy and become certified in this program.
  • Develop an understanding of competitors, market trends and new product developments.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree: BSME preferred
  • Sales experience preferred
  • Years of experience: 2-5 years
  • Moderate to high level of mechanical acumen required
  • Experience in manufacturing environment and/or machine design preferred

SKILLS:

  • Must be a self-starter, working from home and traveling within the local area.

Summary

The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for the overall management and direction of the production supply at Stäubli ECS Duncan, ensuring production objectives are met at the lowest cost consistent with product quality requirements, while maintaining high safety standards and ensuring all legal and regulatory compliance.  The Manufacturing Manager reviews production strategies, manufacturing methods, & budget requirements to support sales growth requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct all ECS operations in Production including Mfg. Engineering, assembly, rework, and production inventory control. 
  • Coordinate and develop long and short-range plans including annual budgets and strategic plans, with the ECS Director of Operations.
  • Maintain goals and objectives for the department and monitor performance.
  • Review upcoming weekly and monthly production schedules to establish labor and equipment needs and set work priorities to meet or exceed customer service requirements, adding shifts as necessary.
  • Analyze downtime and identify areas to improve productivity and reduce costs.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Review equipment and tooling performance. Locate, price and recommend purchases of replacement equipment when necessary.
  • Assist with technical issues that cannot be resolved at the supervisor level.
  • Provide quotes based on internal costs, capabilities, and capacities.
  • Maintain an environment of continuous improvement, working with other teams to increase through put and reduce waste.
  • Participate with Quality in root cause, risk analysis, and corrective actions
  • Write and/or revise standard operating procedures and best practices for the department, assembly cells, and equipment.
  • Hire and train employees; conduct performance reviews and participate in the establishment of wage and salary levels for department personnel.
  • Develop and maintain department trainings and ensure staff training is up to date
  • Ensure that all employees maintain a clean, organized work area, including basic housekeeping and 5S and comply with all safety, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Drive to continually improve the production environment while maintaining a clean and orderly work place.
  • Understand and properly maintain an ERP system, SAP a plus.

The position will be located at a remote autonomous (home office) location in the Northeast US.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide Stäubli customers with on-site repair, troubleshooting, maintenance and programming services for Stäubli robots on an emergency or 24/7 basis.

  • Manage regulatory certification process and documentation for new and existing products and changes/alternate constructions of existing products.
  • Communicates with Headquarters to determine patent potential of new products. Facilitates patent process when necessary. Review patent activities from global ECS team and inform technical team of interesting and/or important developments.
  • Organization, maintenance and coordination of Standards library (UL, IEC, MIL Spec, NFPA, DIN, TüV, etc) both on our local server and with the global ECS team.
  • Constantly stays up-to-date on new certification requirements and proposed future changes to certifications. Actively reviews and creates pre-emptive measures to limit future conflicts and non-conformance issues.
  • Active member of the project team for generation of the product scope, technical specification and conformance verification report (CVR) planning, execution and completion. Support sales team in generation of market requirements documentation.
  •  Provides testing guidance with a focus on standards requirements to facilitate accurate and targeted product testing.
  • Manages any certification conflicts, variation notices or non-conformance issues; acts as the project lead to bring them to resolution (including coordination with both the local and international ECS team members in Engineering, Production, Logistics and Quality) and oversee factory inspection process from various agencies.   • Plans, oversees and helps with the creation of certification submission samples.
  • Creates and presents training on certification processes and requirements for both the technical and sales teams.
  • Actively coordinates with the Ops and Quality teams to ensure all relevant certifications requirements with respect to processes, documentation and product labeling are being followed and conformed with.
  • Creates certification-related annual budget, then tracks and relays the progress as required by the Finance Department to the Engineering Manager • Review and approve all certification-related invoices and track against compliance budget.
  • Organization and maintenance of open certification files for all relevant 3rd-party agencies (TüV, UL, CSA, etc)
  • Ensure compliance with relevant local and international standards with regards to environmental stewardship such as RoHS, REACH and WEEE as well as Conflict Minerals for products designed and/or manufactured from this location.
  • Support generation of all product safety related documentation such as CE declaration of conformity, Product Safety/Warning Sheets, alternative ratings statements, assembly instruction (MA), etc.
  • Coordinate ongoing annual compliance testing for production products to satisfy TüV certification requirements.
  • Provide technical support and technical expertise for Technical Committee presence of Business segment specialists on various TC as needed. Participate on subcommittees as needed.
  • Minimum of 20% travel required.

Qualifications

  • Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) Certification and Compliance Engineer 3/3  
  • Proficient with CAD and PLM software. Autodesk Inventor and SmarTeam preferred.
  • Familiar with International Standards from UL, IEC, VDE, DIN, ASTM, TüV and ANSI
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Summary

Responsible to support the Customer Service team in providing pricing on new and renewal quotes which do not have a standard price in SAP.

Responsible for generating spreadsheets for EtO items and coordinating getting material costs and lead times from third party suppliers.

Responsible for monitoring and following up on open quotations to ensure they are returned to customers in a timely manner.

  • Follow up on quotations and modify quotes as necessary.
  • Create and maintain the open quotation priority list daily and escalate to manager as necessary.
  • Drive continuous improvement on all related processes to ensure standardization and simplification.
  • Must be able to follow process flows and procedures. May be asked to develop or change processes and work instructions.
