Valeo decided to set up its own injection moulding plant in Poland from scratch, transferring the production of parts that had previously been produced by external contractors. The company decided to collect all the injection moulds from contractors and set up its own injection moulding plant at the Polish site. As a globally recognised manufacturer, Valeo wanted to bet on the highest quality machines, so they contacted Stäubli.
Due to the large variety of parts produced, Valeo needed a solution that would reduce mould change times and ensure the highest quality. An additional value for the customer was the reduction of machine downtime, which we noticed during the SMED analysis, enabling the installation of multi-joints. We proposed a complete solution - the QMC 123 magnetic mould changing system together with RMI multicouplers.
Our solution was accepted by Valeo for both the replacement of the connectors with our multicouplers and the purchase of QMC123, a magnetic mould changing system.
