Shortening time-consuming weaving preparation

As a leading global provider of automation solutions for warp preparation, Stäubli constantly focuses its research-and-development efforts to achieve one goal: to bring substantial benefits to weaving mills and make every process related to weaving preparation more efficient.

With its recent innovation, the BEAMPRO reading-in machine, Stäubli has tackled the process of sizing and added a highly efficient element for optimization within the overall process of warp preparation.

From the colored beam dyed sizing process to a completely drawn-in weaving harness, in just two steps

In the multi-color weaving mill, when warps are produced by combining various single-colored sectional warp beams, they are typically assembled directly on the sizing machine. In this case, achieving the highest fabric quality requires exact yarn order, precise color repeat, and homogeneous warp structure. This is where BEAMPRO comes into play: Using BEAMPRO on the sizing machine, the warp can – even without a 1:1 lease – immediately afterwards be swiftly drawn in on a SAFIR automatic drawing-in machine featuring the AWC option Yarn Repeat Management, resulting in a high-quality, ready-to-weave weaving harness including warp beam in one set.

FLEXIBILITY

Easy integration into existing processes

Stäubli automation solutions are flexible in terms of application, layout, and space requirements, meeting the requirements of different types of organization in the weaving preparation hall.

To optimize style changes, weavers can easily adapt or add options to SAFIR automatic drawing-in machines, e.g. Active Warp Control (AWC) options for yarn sorting and yarn controlling and Initial Condition Settings (ICS) options for fancy, hairy, or technical yarns. ICS expands AWC with additional features for specific yarn types, enabling even faster start-up after style changes.

All machines are designed to be user friendly, and mill personnel can be quickly trained to efficiently operate the machinery and systems.

SIZING

Color reading-in

Warp beam construction with perfect inner structure

During the reading-in process in sizing, the BEAMPRO machine constructs warps with correctly ordered color stripes from beginning to end. This supports nearly sectional warping quality of the warp beam.

Active Warp Control (AWC) technology in operation

Featuring Active Warp Control technology, SAFIR drawing-in machines draw in and manage the style repeat in warp sheets even without a 1:1 lease.

Substantial benefits in weaving preparation
  • Attractive short payback period
  • Additional drawing-in capacity allows gaining new orders
  • Perfectly aligned warp yarns respecting the style repeat
  • Increased productivity with existing weaving machines
  • Additional hours of efficient operating
  • Increased production output
  • Fewer operators required
  • Fewer organizational tasks
