Robots in the reclamation of hip femoral bones for allografts

Allografts are in high demand, because natural bone is the best material for bone implants. In order to rectify the current shortage of supply, a Belgian company has commissioned a globally unique facility for the automated processing of human bone tissue using Stäubli Stericlean robots.

Automation of spiral tubing manufacture

Spring-reinforced tubing was considered to be unattainable in the scope of automation.  However, an Italian systems integrator accepted the challenge and designed the world’s first production line for this sophisticated process, incorporating four Stäubli 6-axis robots.
