Stäubli operates six locations in Germany. The units in Bayreuth, Chemnitz, Essen, Hamburg, Sulzbach-Rosenberg, and Weil am Rhein are active in all the Group Divisions: Electrical Connectors, Fluid Connectors, Robotics and Textile.
For Stäubli Textile activities, the Chemnitz location is an important hub for parts logistics, international shipping, and machine assembly. This unit has 35 employees who work in the areas of production, assembly, quality assurance, logistics, and administration. The location is rooted in the 1998 acquisition of Schönherr, the former "one big company" in Eastern Germany that produced weaving machines. Today, this site is an integral part of the Group's textiles activities and is directly attached to the unit in Bayreuth.
