Stäubli in Germany

Stäubli operates six locations in Germany. The units in Bayreuth, Chemnitz, Essen, Hamburg, Sulzbach-Rosenberg, and Weil am Rhein are active in all the Group Divisions: Electrical Connectors, Fluid ConnectorsRobotics and Textile.

LOCATIONS | GERMANY

The Bayreuth location performs the core activities of the Stäubli Group: Fluid Connectors (quick-coupling and multi-coupling systems for fluids, gases, and electrical power, as well as tool changers and quick clamping systems), Robotics (industrial robots for highly automated production processes, including software for steering, programming, and simulation), and Textile (high-performance machinery systems for the weaving industry). More than 600 employees work in the areas of development, production, sales, marketing, service, customer support, and training.

The history of the Bayreuth unit began in 1969 with the acquisition of Trumpelt, a manufacturer of dobby machines. Today, Bayreuth is an organically grown Group location that hosts its own Group companies. The German Stäubli Holding, also located in Bayreuth, supports central organizational and service areas such as HR, IT, and finance.

For Stäubli Textile activities, the Chemnitz location is an important hub for parts logistics, international shipping, and machine assembly. This unit has 35 employees who work in the areas of production, assembly, quality assurance, logistics, and administration. The location is rooted in the 1998 acquisition of Schönherr, the former "one big company" in Eastern Germany that produced weaving machines. Today, this site is an integral part of the Group's textiles activities and is directly attached to the unit in Bayreuth.

For the Group's Stäubli Electrical Connectors activities, the Essen unit is the competence center for the Test & Measurement department. The accessories that the location develops for testing and measurement, as well as for the diagnosis of systems and components, offer top performance, reliability and repeat precision. The diversified product range also includes products for high-frequency measurements, along with high-flexibility cables and hoses. The Essen location is the engineering site for the activities of Stäubli Electrical Connectors for testing and measurement equipment, as well as the European logistics center; 175 employees work at this location. It was founded by Heinrich C. Kosmeier as the company HCK in 1952 and was acquired by the Multi-Contact Group in 1994, which itself was acquired by Stäubli in 2002.

Stäubli Hamburg is a leading specialist for detachable connectors in industrial fluid handling. This coupling technology is used wherever the safety of people, the environment, or the materials is tantamount – like in the processes and fluid logistics for chemicals & pharmaceuticals, oil & gas, and LNG. Through integration with the FCS division of the Stäubli Group, the Stäubli Hamburg production site became part of Stäubli's global manufacturing network. Founded as Roman Seliger in 1904, Stäubli Hamburg currently has approximately 80 employees in the areas of development, design, production, assembly, quality assurance, sales, logistics, and administration at its Norderstedt site.

The former German subsidiary of Multi-Contact, founded in 1962, became part of the Stäubli Group in 2002.
