At EMO, the world’s leading trade fair for the metalworking industry, Stäubli will be presenting two major areas of interest: new robots for classic metalworking and machine loading; and further flexible, mobile robotic solutions for connecting up complete production lines – Industry 4.0 scenarios included.
What special solutions applicable to the field of metalworking and machine tools will the trade visitor find at EMO?
Gerald Vogt: Collaborative and mobile robot systems offer new possibilities for the automation of machine tools. For the first time ever, automation is able to break out from previous rigid constraints and, thanks to innovative robotics solutions, achieve flexibility and productivity of unprecedented dimensions.
To exploit this flexibility to the full, Stäubli has designed the new TX2 six-axis generation to be as universal as possible. In their TX2touch versions, these robots are suitable for direct collaboration with human operatives; they are also available in their mobile and simultaneously collaborative robotic systems, HelMo.
This marks the beginning of a new era in the loading of machine tools. The robots can work in stand-alone mode, but they can also collaborate directly with human machine operators. In their mobile (HelMo) version, they can effortlessly link different machine tools and handle the entire workflow in Industry 4.0 scenarios. This flexibility allows for the introduction of completely new, digitally connected production processes that will lead to a significant increase in productivity and take the competitiveness of innovative companies to a new level.
