Carpet qualities

The binding possibilities of Schönherr carpet weaving machines are nearly unlimited.
For example with our cam motion one up to four different ground weaves can be combined with several pile weave structures. With the installation of the rotary dobby more than 50 ground bindings can be used to make approximately 220 different weave structures. A huge variety of carpet qualities can be manufactured on the ALPHA 360, ALPHA 400 or ALPHA 500 series.

Thanks to this diversity, Schönherr customers can react very flexibly to market demand. With their innovative products they can be always one step ahead. Illustrated below are only a few possibilities of a very big variety of carpet qualities:

Standard
This technology for the highest productivity can be used for all textile materials.

Mega
Carpet with different effects, especially double pile. The double pile can be woven over the outer wefts only, or over outer and inner wefts.

Premia
Carpet with different effects like double-pile, pattern on the ground or reduction of pile row density, resulting in a kind of shadow effect.

Supra
The dead pile is floating within the cut pile, resulting in a clear carpet back and in higher densities.

Structure
Carpet with different effects like double pile, triple pile pattern on the ground or patterning in the carpet back.

Classic
3-turn weave structure for high quality carpets; very clear carpet back and higher knop pull-out strength. No mixed contours.

Single
The characteristic of this technology is that pile knops are created on every weft. Extremely high pile row densities can be woven with this technology.

Shaggy
Carpet with a pile height of up to 30 mm in different technologies like V weave structure or W weave structure, preferably woven with thick frisé yarn.

Loop structure
Loop carpet with different effects like pattern on the ground or loops over more wefts.

Loop
Loop carpet that can be produced in woven-through technique as well as in not woven-through technique.

Reverse
Sisal-look carpet that is usable on both sides; Carpet reverse is the negative of the face.

Sisal
Sisal-look carpet with different floating effects over one or more wefts, preferably woven with thick BCF yarns.

Spacer
Simply pattern shaggy carpets with up to 70 mm pile height, mostly with 2 colours but also up to 4 colours. Use of pp-frisé yarns.

Turf
For the production of artificial grass with higher knops pull-out strength, a W-weave structure is used. Artificial grass can also be produced with an intermediate layer for better absorbability and drainage characteristics.
