120 years of innovation

The anniversary of the Stäubli Group

Stäubli was founded in June 1892 as a small textile machinery workshop in Horgen/Zurich. Two months later the company registered its first patent for a dobby machine for the weaving industry, setting the foundation for a long heritage of industrial innovation.

In 1956 Stäubli diversified into hydraulics and pneumatics. With the founding of the Connectors division, the company started selling rapid action couplings. Ten years later Stäubli introduced its now legendary quick-release coupling with safety push button to the market. The Connectors Division has been a success story ever since, reaching another height in 2002 when Multi-Contact, a manufacturer of high quality electrical connectors, joined the Stäubli Group.

In 1982 Stäubli’s youngest division, Robotics, started with the development and manufacturing of robots. It has successfully extended its product range over the years to a wide array of market solutions, software and controllers.

For 120 years Stäubli has been continuously developing and progressing. Today we are an international group headquartered in Pfäffikon, Switzerland. With a workforce of 4000 in 25 countries around the world, we deliver innovative solutions to all industrial sectors.
